Banna Chluain Meala achieved outstanding success at the International Band Championships in Limerick

Banna Chluain Meala achieved outstanding success at the International Band Championships in Limerick, where they were awarded the title of Overall Parade Champions.

The competition featured bands from across Ireland, the UK, and the USA, making the achievement for the Clonmel band particularly significant. This marks the first time in many years that an Irish band has won the prestigious overall title.

In addition to this major honour, the talented young musicians and Colour Guard of Banna Chluain Meala were also awarded Best Youth Band.

The band delighted audiences with their energetic and polished performance, which included an impressive display based on Phantom of the Opera presented in front of the viewing stand.

Now in its 54th year, the International Band Championships in Limerick attracts bands from numerous countries and remains a highlight of the banding calendar. Banna Chluain Meala look forward to taking part every year, and they are especially proud to return home this year with the Overall Parade Championship title.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the musicians and Color-Guard, under the musical leadership of Mr. Peter Taylor and the creative choreography of Ms Majella Forte & Ms Lyndsey Gaffney whose commitment and exceptional talent have earned them this well-deserved recognition.

The band would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all the parents and supporters whose encouragement makes these successes possible. Congratulations to all our members.
