Denis Lacy Hall was built in the mid 1830s
The Denis Lacy Hall, one of Clonmel’s best-known buildings, is up for sale.
The building is located near The Mall on the corner of Davis Road and Anglesea Street.
The premises was constructed in the mid 1830s as a clubhouse for country gentlemen.
It comprises a three storey, five bay clubhouse, which was previously in use as offices but is vacant at present.
In recent years the building has served as the headquarters for the Fianna Fáil political party.
It has also hosted dance and music classes and other community activities.
According to selling agents Dougan FitzGerald, “the property, which retains much of its old period design, has potential for redevelopment, with superb aspect”.
