Cultural collaboration between South Tipperary and the Venetian lagoon

Linn Gallery is delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition, From Chioggia to Clonmel, featuring a selection of contemporary artwork from the historic Venetian coastal town of Chioggia. Opening on 23rd October and running through to the 7th November 2026. This exhibition presents a cultural collaboration between South Tipperary and the Venetian lagoon.

The Linn Gallery is located on the first floor of The Narrow Space in Mitchell Street and the gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 10.30 to 5.30.

The origin of this reciprocal exhibition dates back to September 2025, when members of the Clonmel RATS (Random Artists Tipperary South) group travelled to Chioggia for an exhibition. That international exchange was organised by David Anchell of Camida and artist Eugene de Leastar, who has long-standing ties to the area and shares a studio in Chioggia with Italian poet and painter Maurizio de Grandis.

Now, the creative dialogue comes full circle. The cultural heritage of Chioggia is brought to Clonmel, showcasing a body of work by a group of Chioggia-based artists. Visitors to linn gallery can expect a diverse body of work across several genres and styles.

"We are delighted to bring these works from Chioggia to Clonmel," said Máire de Leastar, curator of linn gallery. "Artistic exchanges like this bridge geographical boundaries and give us a window to the beautiful fishing town of Chioggia.”

From Chioggia to Clonmel is kindly sponsored by CV Financial.

The exhibition will open with an evening reception on Friday, 23rd October at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
