Construction of new Garda Station in this Tipperary town will start early next year

The construction of the new Garda Station in Clonmel on the site of the former Kickham Army Barracks at The Mall will commence in the first quarter of next year.

This was stated by District Manager Sinead Carr at a meeting of Clonmel Borough District.

She said she had been advised recently that the detailed tender design documents for the new station were being worked on, and the tenders for the construction would go out towards the end of this year.

“I’m putting as much pressure as possible on them,” Ms Carr added.

Cllr Siobhán Ambrose welcomed the fact that the construction of the new Garda Station at the former Kickham Barracks would commence in the first quarter of 2025.

Cllr Pat English said it would be good to see that a start on the new station would be made early next year.
