The works are due to be finished by mid-2027

Tipperary County Council has signed the contracts with Rathcabin Tarmacadam Limited for the delivery of the Birdhill Active Travel Scheme.

The scheme will provide new and improved pedestrian and cycling infrastructure through Birdhill Village, including: new footpaths and cycle facilities, enhanced bus stops, raised pedestrian and toucan crossings, traffic calming measures, and improved road safety for all users

The project will “transform the character and function of Birdhill Village, creating a safer, more accessible environment for residents, visitors, pedestrians and cyclists while supporting sustainable travel choices” say the council.

The works are now underway and are expected to be substantially completed by the end of Q2 2027.
