Gardai in Limerick are currently investigating the incident
Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating the theft of a car from the grounds of a Limerick university.
The incident occurred at the Third Level institution in the city, on Monday, October 7.
Gardai have confirmed that they attended the scene and that their investigations are ongoing.
It is understood that the incident happened in the afternoon at the Moylish Campus of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).
A concerned staff member told Tipperary Live that the car belonged to a disabled student, believe to be from Tipperary, who had only recently purchased the vehicle.
A representative for TUS said: "TUS is aware of an incident and will be providing any assistance the Garda require. Appropriate support is available to any TUS students who may need them at any stage, for any reason."
A statement issued by the Garda Press Office confirmed that investigations are on-going.
"Gardaí in Limerick attended the scene following reports of the unauthorised taking of a car, which occurred at an educational establishment in Limerick City, on the afternoon of Monday, October 7, 2024," said the statement.
