Gardaí in Tipperary have been informed as a man "with an American accent" was apparently seen and heard driving around the Knockavilla area of Dundrum "shouting abuse at women".

In a post on Facebook, Tipp Town, said: "Man with an American accent driving a jeep shouting abuse at women in the Dundrum and Knockavilla area. Guards have been informed."

Several comments have since flooded in with people reacting to the post and comments such as: "He's a real tough guy alright - targeting a young woman. Despicable. There's intimidation alright - but not the kind people are assuming. I can't wait until we're free to talk openly - we could write a book!".

As well as: "He was celebrating Trump's 1st day."

Tipp Town then responded with the comment: "Can we please keep the comments respectful or they will be turned off."
