Bernadette (Bernie) McDaid
(née Spaight)

McDaid, (nee Spaight), Bernadette (Bernie), Cullina, Ballina, Co. Tipperary passed away surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved father Tony. Bernie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, cherished husband Danny, adored children Leanne, Hayley, Daniel and Aisling, her mother Angeline, sister Terry, brothers Ger and Derek, Daniel’s fiancée Tara and Aisling’s partner Matti, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, and a large circle of friends.


May she rest in peace.

 

Arrival to Our Lady and St Lua's Church Ballina on Sunday 2nd. February for Requiem Mass at 1 p.m.. burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deirdre Galvin
(née Murray)

The death has occurred of Deirdre Galvin nee Murray late of Ballinderry, Carrick-on-Suir died 29th January 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by her parents Paddy and Peggy, sister Patricia and baby brother Leonard, sadly missed by her loving husband Dan and children Ben and Claire, brothers Martin, Pat, Michael, Gerry, Gary and Timmy, sisters Margo, Susan, Barbara, Helena, Paula, Sandie and JoJo, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Cian, Theo and Dani, son-in-law Jimmy, daughter-in-law Elaine, nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, relatives and many friends.

 

May Deirdre rest in peace

 

Deirdre will be reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home, New Street, Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday the 1st February from 5pm to 6.30pm, Deirdre will be arriving at St Nicholas' Church, Carrick-on-Suir on Sunday the 2nd February for requiem mass on arrival at 12 O Clock followed by burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Carrick-on-Suir.

Ann Stokes
(née Heffernan)

Ann passed peacefully in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at Tipperary University Hospital. Predeceased by her husband John K and her sister Mary. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Jane and Suzanne, sisters Elizabeth, Helen and Jacqueline, brother John, grandchildren Ann Marie and John , son in law Joe, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing at Costigan’s Funeral Home, Cahir, on Saturday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday in St. Mary’s Church, Cahir at 12.30pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Father Thomas Carthage White

Fr. Thomas Carthage White, age 85, of Biloxi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

 

Father was a native of Cahir, Ireland, attending St. Joseph High School, Cahir and St. John Seminary, Waterford.

 

He was ordained for the Diocese of Natchez-Jackson on June 14, 1964 at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Waterford. Father White served as an assistant pastor at Our Lady of the Gulf Parish in Bay St. Louis and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Gulfport. He was also an assistant pastor and administrator at Sacred Heart Parish in Hattiesburg. Father White served as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Lumberton and St. Joseph Mission; Poplarville; Immaculate Conception Parish, Laurel; St. John the Evangelist Parish in Gulfport and St. Mary Parish in Woolmarket. He later served as parochial vicar of St. Alphonsus Parish in Ocean Springs and Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Biloxi.

 

After retiring from active ministry in 2017, Father White resided in one of the retired priest homes behind Our Lady of Fatima Church. At the time of his death, he was living in Brookdale Biloxi. Fr. White loved gardening and especially country life.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard White; his mother, Sheila Nugent White; and a brother, Michael White.

 

Fr. White is survived by his siblings, Jimmie White, Richard White, Patrick White, Paul White, and Maureen White; nieces and nephews, Michael, Kieran, Paul, David, Melanie, Graine, and Niamh; Sr. Mary Tobin in Texas, Nora Tobin, Tom and Margaret O’Gorman. and other relatives and many friends along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 1:30 - 3 pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 pm in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.

 

Arrangements are being handled by the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Biloxi.
