Dermot Bannon with homeowners Katie and Padraig
It's fair to say that Dermot Bannon met his match in Sunday night's episode of Room to Improve when faced against schoolteacher Katie who most DEFINITELY did not share his vision for open plan living.
While dairy farmer Padraig Ryan and his wife Katie hoped to create their ‘forever’ home by renovating a 100 year old farmhouse in Tipperary, Dermot's initial design immediately fell flat when it was awarded a "zero out of ten" by a less than impressed Katie.
After four months, multiple redesigns and an increased budget in tow, demolition begins and the entire interior of the house is gutted…but Dermot still has a battle on his hands, trying to convince Katie to abandon the wall she has insisted must separate the living room from the rest of the house.
Here's ten of the best reactions on social media to last night's episode of Room to Improve

Why in the name of all things architect would you get Dermot in if you hate open plan; Dermot LOVES an open plan. He’d marry an open plan. #RoomToImprove

I can't help but get the feeling that if Katie wasn't around, Padraig would have the cows sitting on the sofa beside him watching Ear to the Ground #roomtoimprove
