Old IRA committee make Tipperary planning application for memorial plaque near Fethard

A planning application has been submitted to Tipperary County Council seeking permission to erect a "memorial plaque" in county Tipperary.

The application has been made by Neil Ryan, Secretary of the Third Tipperary Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee.

The project includes associated site development works, effectively turning the area into a formal memorial space.

The memorial will be erected near the site of the former Third Tipperary Old IRA Brigade Headquarters, the application states.

The planning application is now under review by the council, with a decision expected by June 10, 2025.
