With the clocks going back and the long nights in, street lights are everyone's best friend when walking around the village.

Safety is paramount with so many people out walking the village in the late evenings and the old motto of "be safe be seen" comes to mind.

At this moment in time eight of our street lights are not working within the village and some of these are out for three months or more.

These have been reported through normal methods and still no reply or any lights being fixed.

With a General Election upcoming there are many more people out and about in the evenings canvassing and vote hunting and walking through areas with less lighting.

The areas affected are the Clonmel Road (missing one), Factory Hill (missing two), The Bridge (missing one), Clogheen Road (missing two), Main Street (missing one), Halley Houses entrance (missing one).
