'Are you right there Michael?' - Catchy jingle praises Tipp's Michael Lowry ahead of election

Michael Lowry shared the 'fan-made' video and song on his Instagram

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has shared a video and song on his Instagram page today made by Norma Foley, an apparent fan of the Fine Gael TD and long time musician.

Foley is part of the six piece band Streams of Whiskey from Upperchurch and Moycarkey in county Tipperary, who cover the songs and music of Shane MacGowan and many others.

The 20-second video is edited clips of Michael Lowry doing various things like meeting his constituents, young and old, signing what look to be important documents and even working up a sweat on an exercise bike.

The catchy song goes:

"Are ya right there Michael, are ya right?

"Aren't ya working for the people day and night.

"Sure the proof is in the pudding, your track record it is spoken, but for Lowry, the future will be bright."

Before a chorus of kids can be heard shouting "Number 1"

Mr Lowry shared the post on his Instagram with the caption:

"Shoutout to Norma Harrington who put together this fantastic song. No doubt it will top the Christmas charts."
