Tipperary farmer Con Traas has put years into growing fruit in a wholesome way. Now that ambition and dedication to growing has been recognised on the national stage.

The Good Food Ireland Awards recognises producers for their premium produce, commitment to Irish provenance, production ethos, cultivation and top quality produce. The popular Tipperary producer Con Traas of The Apple Farm, Cahir collected the 2023 ‘Producer of the year’ Award. The awards ceremony, held in the K Club honoured Con who has toiled to become an authentic presence on the food landscape in Ireland.

The Apple Farm is a popular spot, on the road between Clonmel and Cahir, in south Tipperary where a range of products are sold from the natural and delicious apple to other local produce. The shop at the farm sells cider as well as apple juice, lemonades, jams and many types of fruit. It is a popular destination for visitors where people can take a walk among the orchards, walk in the fairy garden and gather a sense of rural Ireland in the heartlands of the country.
