Celebrations are underway in Borrisokane after a local shop was revealed as the selling location for last Saturday’s Daily Millions top prize ticket worth €1,000,000.

Spar in Borrisokane sold the all-important winning ticket, which is now worth one million euro to one lucky player.

Michael O'Brien, Owner of Spar in Borrisokane, expressed his excitement of the win:

"We’re a busy shop in the town and get a lot of passing trade, but we really hope it's a local who’s won the prize! There's great excitement in the store at the moment as news is filtering out that we sold the winning ticket.

"Customers are flying in and out the door, checking their tickets and asking all sorts of questions! It’s created great buzz in the town altogether.

"It’s nice to get some good positive news for a change and we’re absolutely delighted to be part of it. We’re delighted for the winner and wish them the very best of luck with their nice windfall and hope they spend it wisely!”, said Mr O'Brien.

The winning numbers for Saturday’s (April 15) 2pm Daily Millions draw were: 4, 16, 22, 29, 37, 38 and the bonus was 10.

The National Lottery has confirmed it’s still waiting to hear from the winner, and are urging all of its Daily Millions players, especially in Tipperary, to check their tickets carefully to make sure they don’t miss out on the incredible €1,000,000 prize.

The Borrisokane ticketholder is advised to sign the back of their winning ticket and to keep it safe. The winner should make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.

A National Lottery spokesperson said:

“It’s been an incredible start to the year for Daily Millions players as there’s been six top prize wins in the Daily Millions game alone since January. So far this year, three players from Dublin (2) and Tipperary have scooped the Daily Millions Top Prize of €1,000,00, while three players from Louth and Dublin (2) scored the Daily Millions Plus top prize of €500,000.

"We are still waiting to hear from our latest winner in Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary, so we’re encouraging all of our Daily Million players check their tickets carefully to see if they’ve won the incredible €1,000,000 prize. The winner should sign the back of their ticket, keep it somewhere safe and make contact with our prize claims team so that arrangements can be made for them to claim their life-changing prize.”
