The Clonmel and District Daffodil Day Committee raised €54,670 for the Irish Cancer Society during this year’s Daffodil Day held on March 24.

A cheque for this amount was presented to Nicola McMahon, Munster fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society.

Ms McMahon sincerely thanked the group for all their hard work in raising such an incredible sum.

She outlined the many ways in which this money would be used, including cancer research, volunteer drivers and the nursing and counselling services.

Acting chairperson Joan Ambrose thanked the committee, Daffodil Day’s many dedicated volunteers, all who donated fresh daffodils, schools, organisations, businesses, companies and the people of Clonmel and its environs who contributed so generously to ensure that this year’s fundraising for Daffodil Day was such a success.
