SHANE MacGowan has been discharged from hospital and will get to spend his 66th birthday at home on Christmas Day.
That’s according to his wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, who shared an update on social media.
Announcing the good news on X, formerly known as Twitter, she said: “Shane got out of the hospital! We are deeply and eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses and staff at St Vincent’s. It’s the best.”
“And special thanks to Tom Creagh and Brian Corscadden for your help,” she added.
The Pogues singer had been in the hospital since June, after suffering from an infection.
Over the past couple of weeks, he had quite a few visitors, including Bono, Imelda May and Damien Dempsey.
