Tipperary County Council plans to develop a bathing area at this popular lakeside village

Proposals to develop a designated bathing spot at the lakeside village of Dromineer had been met with “unanimous support”, Nenagh Municipal District Council members were told at their November meeting.

The Council met locals earlier this month, councillors were told, and a number of suggestions for extra facilities were made which will be brought back to the relevant bodies.

It is proposed to make an application to the EPA for official designation under the Bathing Water Regulations in March 2024 with a view to having a bathing area in place for summer 2024.

Water quality will be monitored during the summer with the intent of securing blue flag beach status in 2025.
