The Thurles Islamic Community Centre has held an appreciation event to thank the people of Ireland for recognising the state of Palestine.
The Appreciation Day Event for Ireland for Promoting Peace and Justice Through Recognising the State of Palestine event took place on Saturday, June 8.
A small group outside Scoil Angela held up signs to passersby, with messages including “Thank you, Ireland” and “Together for Peace.”
The centre said the event was about expressing gratitude for Ireland’s recognition of the state and standing with Palestine for peace and justice that echoes worldwide.
Refreshments were provided afterwards at Ranna Ghor Indian Restaurant.
