Tipperary women in their 80s complete 115 kilometre pilgrimage

Prevented earlier in the year from completing the last stage of St Declan's Way by a sad bereavement and a leg injury, Chrissie O’Meara of Bohernamona Road, Thurles (aged 89) and Josie Maher, Killinan (aged 84) have just returned to complete the final stage of the 115km Pilgrim Path linking Cashel with Ardmore, Co Waterford.

Both ladies are a wonderful example of how with a positive attitude, we can all blossom in our golden years.

The pictures were taken recently on the final stage of their epic walk.
