Emergency services have brought a major fire on Main Street in Roscrea under control.

The blaze, which broke out shortly before 2am at Bernie’s SuperValu, required the response of multiple fire crews from Roscrea, Nenagh, Cloughjordan, Laois, Offaly and Tipperary. Photos of the burnt-out SuperValu have circulated online, showing the extent of the damage.
Videos shared on social media overnight showed flames rising high above the supermarket as firefighters worked through the early hours to contain the fire.
Main Street remains closed this morning while crews continue to manage the aftermath of the incident.
