Rattler Byrne funeral to be broadcast live
Tipperary and Sarsfields legend will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Mickey Rattler Byrne will be laid to rest in St Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles tomorrow after Requiem Mass in the Cathedral of the Assumption.
The funeral of Tipperary hurling legend Mickey ‘Rattler’ Byrne will be broadcast live on the Cathedral of the Assumption radio frequency tomorrow morning Wednesday, we can reveal.
By tuning in to 106.4fm, listeners will be able to hear the entire celebration of the Rattlers very full life during the Funeral Mass which will be concelebrated in the same Church he was baptised, received his First Communion and Confirmation.
Rattler, aged 93, died on Sunday morning and tributes have been pouring in since then for him, including from GAA President Aogan O’Fearaghaill. There will be Guards of Honour in the Cathedral yard from amongst others, Thurles Sarsfields GAA club, of which he was President, The Tipperary County Board, and the schools in Thurles of which he is a past pupil.
