N24 in Tipperary remains closed following collision between Clonmel and Cahir

A man in his 20s has died following the collision on the Clonmel to Cahir road on Monday night

The died following a collision between his car and a truck.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at Ballingarrane, Cahir, at around 8pm yesterday.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The road was closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052 6177640.
 

The N24 remains closed until further notice in both directions between Clonmel and Cahir following a collision late on Monday night.

Diversions are signposted but motorists are best advised to avoid this stretch.

HGVs travelling from Clonmel towards the M8 should divert via Cashel.
