Jockey Alan O’Sullivan produced a poignant ride in Tipperary today to compete in a race at Thurles, the racecourse where last month his brother Michael suffered a serious fall that led to his death ten days later.
Alan O’Sullivan rode Georgie Green for trainer Daniel William O’Sullivan in the Ballagh INH Flat Race, the last race on the card at Thurles, at 5.35 today.
Alan paid a fitting tribute to his brother Michael by riding a treble of winners last weekend at point to point races ahead of the late jockey being honoured at next week’s Cheltenham Festival, with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle to be run in his memory, and he added to it further in today's race in Thurles, finishing what no doubt would have been a difficult task for the young jockey.
