At the recent AGM of County Tipperary Community Games, tributes were paid to Peggy Colville who, after many years of hard work, dedication and commitment to is stepping down.
The 2023 Annual General Meeting of County Tipperary Community Games took place in the Anner Hotel, Thurles on Thursday last.
It was great to be back in person after the past few years of online meetings.
The areas represented at the meeting were Ardfinnan, Ballingarry, Boherlahan, Cloughjordan, Fethard, Holycross, Lorrha, Moycarkey, Thurles, Tipperary Town and Upperchurch.
TRIBUTES TO PEGGY COLVILLE
Tributes were paid to Peggy Colville who, after many years of hard work, dedication and commitment to Community Games is stepping down from the position of PRO.
Her trojan work in promoting Tipperary Community Games was commended.
Peggy will continue to work with the current committee and share her vast experience with the newly appointed PRO, Brenda Boylan, Ballingarry.
Sincere thanks and appreciation for years of hard work were also expressed to Deirdre Ryan, who has stepped down as Tipperary Community Games Child Officer.
Siobhan Kennedy, Newport, has been appointed as the new Child Officer. All other officer positions remain as they were in 2022.
The hard work and dedication of our youth officers, Emma, Dara, Amy and Izzy was also commended.
The past year was a very successful and enjoyable year for Tipperary Community Games, with hundreds of children from across the county participating in county, regional and national competitions.
With a full itinerary of team and individual events (sporting and cultural) in 2023, we would like to invite any area in the county that is interested in affiliating for 2023 to please do so without delay, as county events will be commencing in March. CONGRATS TO EMMA
Congratulations to our Youth Officer Emma Murray, Ballingarry, who was recently awarded the Quercus Entrance Scholarship from the president of UCC, a scholarship for first year students who achieved 625 points in their leaving certificate.
