A well known Clonmel cyclist,Tom Kiely, who passed away on Saturday November 29
There is a sense of profound sadness in the town of Clonmel at the passing of a renowned sportsman, Tom Kiely, who died on Saturday.
Tom, of Anne Street,Clonmel passed away on Saturday at Bramleigh Lodge Nursing Home in Cahir.
Tom was a cyclist of some renown and was a very popular figure in the cycling world at a local and national level.
His grandfather was the famous Champion Kiely who won a gold medal in the Olympic games in St Louis in 1904.
Tom, was predeceased by his parents Tom and Marie, brother Larry and sister-in-law Geraldine. Sadly missed by his sisters Carmel and Pat, brothers Tony and Martin, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and his many friends.
Reposing at Fennessy's Funeral Home this Monday evening from 5 o'clock to 7 o'clock with removal on Tuesday morning to St Marys Church arriving at 10.50 o'clock for requiem mass at 11 o'clock. Funeral thereafter to St Patricks Cemetery
