Tipperary community joins forces to raise funds for defibrillator

Wran Singing for Church Defibrillator

Some people got together before Christmas and decided to do the ‘Wran’ to raise funds for a defibrillator that is needed for St Mary’s Church in Cahir.

With a cardiac incident taking place in the church recently and the subsequent use of a defibrillator borrowed from Cahir Park AFC close by, it was decided that the church really needs to have one on-site.

This fundraiser was initially the initiative of the Cailini le Cheile, but Cahir Women's Shed, Daughters of Dún Iascaigh, Cahir to Sing choir and many others from the audience on the day, as well as some parishioners joined them to take part in this annual tradition in aid of a great cause.

Great fun was had by all on St. Stephens Day in the Castle Car Park with €915.00 raised so far and money still coming in. All monies raised will go towards the purchase of a defibrillator for St. Mary’s Church.

Well done to all involved.
