RIP: Tipperary GAA mourns the passing of accomplished hurler and footballer of years gone by

Fr. Phil Barry passed away recently
There was great sadness earlier this week, after Tipperary GAA shared the news of the passing of Fr. Phil Barry of Upperchurch Drombane, and the Pallottine College, Thurles.
Fr. Phil was an accomplished hurler and footballer. During his school days, he won the Dr. Harty Cup, Dean Ryan Cup, Croke Cup, and Rice Cup with Thurles CBS. He also played county minor hurling for Tipperary, winning All Ireland medals in the early 1950s.
Tipperary GAA extended sincere sympathies to Fr. Phil’s brother Seamus, his sisters Judy and Kathleen, relatives, friends, and the Pallottine Community at this sad time.
