Tipperary’s Dylan Slevin pulled off an impressive victory over reigning world champion Luke Littler during today’s Players Championship 11 in Leicester.
The Borrisokane native was drawn against Littler in the opening round and secured a 6-3 win, posting an average score of over 92 against "The Nuke."
This marks the second time in just a week that the 22-year-old has defeated a world champion, following his recent triumph over 2021 titleholder Gerwyn Price.
Despite the strong start, Slevin's run was cut short in the second round where he narrowly lost 6-5 to Martin Lukeman of England. Slevin was poised to win the match with 36 remaining when Lukeman dramatically sealed victory by checking out 134 with a 12-dart finish.
