There are some tough groups in this year’s Tailteann Cup following today’s draw, and Tipperary’s group is no exception after the draw was confirmed earlier this week.

In Group 1, Tipperary face a challenging mix of teams, including last year’s beaten semi-finalists Sligo, as well as Kildare and Leitrim.

Tipperary will first be away on the weekend of May 10/11 against Sligo before hosting Kildare the following weekend of May 17/18 while the final game against Leitrim will be at a neutral venue on the weekend of May 31.

Group 3 sees Westmeath, Antrim, Limerick, and London going head-to-head, while Group 2 features Offaly, Laois, Wicklow, and Waterford.

With New York entering at the preliminary quarter-final stage, the Tailteann Cup holds even more tension this year, as only the top two from each group automatically progress, and the third-placed team with the worst record will miss out.

Group 1: Kildare, Sligo, Leitrim, Tipperary

Group 2: Offaly, Laois, Wicklow, Waterford

Group 3: Westmeath, Limerick, Antrim, London

Group 4: Fermanagh, Wexford, Carlow, Longford
