After winning the Munster title last week with a hard-fought win over Clare, Tipperary had to wait until this week to find out their final opponents.
Kilkenny easily accounted for Dublin in the Leinster final on Wednesday night last, and that result all but confirmed that the final will take place in UPMC Nowlan Park over the June Bank Holiday.
The decision comes owing to the existing home and away agreement between the counties, with Tipperary owing Kilkenny the fixture after playing the Cats at this grade previously in the 2006 All-Ireland decider.
The fixture is expected to be confirmed shortly, with the throw-in time the only variable, as Brendan Cummins' side will return to UPMC Nowlan Park again - after losing last year's final at the same venue to Offaly - on Saturday, May 31.
