The Home of Rugby! Another Irish international with Tipperary connections

Well done Joe McCarthy

When Ireland took on Australia recently there was a Cashel connection withJoe McCarthy getting his first Ireland cap.

Joe is a son of Paula Fogarty from Cashel and Joe McCarthy from Cork. His grandparents were the late Andy and Angela Fogarty.

Joe played under 20 rugby for Ireland and then progressed to the Leinster setup making his debut against Cardiff in January 22. He impressed for Emerging Ireland in South Africa earlier this season and is now a full International.

All in Cashel Rugby Club wish him well in his career.

Andy and Angela would have been very proud of him. Cashel’s John Fogarty, the Ireland scrum coach also deserves special mention.

Tadgh Beirne and more recently Jimmy O'Brien are two other current Irish internationals with strong Cahir and Clonmel connections respectively.
