It was a stellar year for Tipperary and Carrick-on-Suir cyclist Patrick O'Loughlin

Success on national and international level

Patrick O’Loughlin made his mark at home and abroad in 2022

The year just ended was a special year for Patrick O'Loughlin, which saw him secure much success on the track and road on a national level as a rider with the Panduit Carrick Wheelers club.

He also represented his country in road and track at the European Championships in Portugal.

He also won an Annerville award and was recognised among the best amateur sports stars in Tipperary. He will be presented with this award by the Tipperary United Sports Panel at its annual function at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel on Saturday night January 21.

Patrick was overall winner of the Junior National Road Series, never finishing outside the top five.

He won the UCI Junior Track International in Dublin and finished third in the Charleville two-day.

At the European championships on the track he was 11th in the scratch race and at home he was Munster Road Race Junior champion.
