Ryan O'Meara called out the opposition on X

Dáil

Following chaos in the Dáil on Wednesday, Nenagh TD Ryan O'Meara has said "The conduct of the opposition in the Dáil today was embarrassing. There is a majority in the Dáil that can and should have elected a Taoiseach today and a minority prevented that from happening through pure theatrics. It is shameful and an insult to democracy."

Arguments broke out this week in the Dáil after members of the Regional Technical Group were seated with opposition parties despite having been part of Government formation talks.

This was heavily criticised by opposition party members who argued that the Regional Group TDs should not have members in both Government and Opposition seats and that doing so would take away much of their own speaking time.
