HAVE YOU BEEN? Tipperary pub makes list of Ireland’s best pubs with a view

Larkins Bar in Garrykennedy has made Lovin Ireland's recent list of "the best pubs in Ireland with a cracking view to soak up that sun!"

Larkins is situated just 10 minutes outside of the north Tipperary town of Nenagh and only just a few minutes down the road from the village of Portroe. Its celebrated view is of the beautiful Lough Derg and across the water to the low hills of east Clare. 

Though a popular pub year-round, Larkins thrives when the sun comes out and the evenings grow longer in Spring and Summer. Known for a great pint of Guinness, fantastic trad sessions and a handsome bowl of chips, Larkins is a great spot for a few hours spent relaxing and winding down with friends and family.

The Lovin team aren't the only ones to catch on to it's charms, Larkins was also recently featured in Lonely Planet's guide to Tipperary. Journalist Vic O'Sullivan of Lonely Planet wrote: "In Garrykennedy, the legendary Larkins serves creamy pints and hearty meals. (Don’t pass up a pint of Whitefriar Blond Ale, a crisp local brew.) Ryan’s, down the lane, offers live trad music in a time-warp atmosphere."
