Parking regulations are under scrutiny in Tipperary's biggest towns

Efforts are underway to bring consistency to parking regulations across County Tipperary, where nine towns currently operate under separate regimes with their own bye-laws and charges.

In response to ongoing concerns raised by Clonmel Councillors, a review of the fragmented system was committed to last year by former Director of Services Marcus O’Connor.

Since then, the Strategic Policy Committee has been working on developing a tiered structure that would streamline and standardize parking fees across all affected towns.

However, the implementation of a unified approach is expected to take time, with full harmonisation of parking policies unlikely to occur before mid-next year.
