LATEST: Travelling today? Here are the Tipperary roads still affected by fuel protests

Widespread disruption on roads remains ongoing throughout the country today due to protests over rising fuel costs. In Tipperary, a number of roads are still affected by blockades, slow-moving convoys, and demonstrations.

According to Transport Infrastructure Ireland, the following roads continue to be impacted. If you are travelling today, please bear this in mind:

• Between J6 (N62) Thurles (2 kilometres south of the Littleton area) and J9 (N74) Cashel (South) (near Cashel).
• Between J10 (N24) Cahir (North) and J9 (N74) Cashel (South) (1 kilometre north of the Cahir area).
• Between J9 (N74) Cashel (South) and J7 Cashel (North) (near Cashel).

For those travelling across the border into Limerick today, the following roads are affected:

• Between J28 Castletroy (near Annacotty) and J29 (N24) Ballysimon (Limerick).
• Between J30 M7/N18/M20 (Limerick) and J28 Castletroy (near Annacotty).
• Between J4 Patrickswell and J3 Raheen (near Patrickswell).

With supply chains disrupted and major routes through Portumna, Cashel, and Limerick City facing gridlock, we strongly recommend:

• Keep your tank topped up: Ensure you have enough fuel in your vehicle for emergencies or unexpected long diversions.
• Avoid the “red light”: Don’t wait until you’re low—local stations in Nenagh and Portumna are already reporting high demand and potential short-term outages.
• Check live reports: Follow local An Garda Síochána Tipperary social media, Google Maps, and TII Traffic before setting off.
