Colin Meagher and four of his students from SBG Clonmel (Martial Arts Gym) - Benas Whelan, Alex Connolly, Aaron McCormack and Rubik Grigoryan - won the second place overall team trophy at the Malta National Freestyle Wrestling Championships.

Colin, Benas and Rubik all took home silver medals after several matches each.

Alex won a bronze medal after beating the Maltese national champion and Aaron fell just short of a medal, but had some great performances and added points to help the Clonmel contingent win the second place team trophy.

The SBG Clonmel team represented Irish wrestling and wore sponsored tee-shirts from the national wrestling federation, the IAWA.

The event was held at the Marsa Sports Ground and coincided with the 55th anniversary of the Malta Amateur Wrestling Federation.
