Nicole Drought cemented her status as one of Ireland’s greatest racing drivers by winning her first UK MotorSport Vision (MSVR) Championship in 2024.

Alongside her team mate Justin Roberts, Nicole took her eighth consecutive podium place with a third place finish at Brands Hatch after a late race charge, the EBC Racing Honda Civic shadowing the winners across the line to clinch enough points to assure the Roscrea woman of her first UK championship.

In the closing stages of the race, Nicole was running in the lead pack in fourth position. Although this would have assured her of the title, she decided she wanted to end the season with a podium finish and passed Matt Schwaffer’s BMW at Druids Corner with two laps to go, crossing the line in third place to the delight of the large Irish contingent who had travelled to support her.

The success completed a notable double for Nicole, after she retained the Open Clubman Irish Rallycross Championship at the wheel of a Renault Clio 172 at Mondello Park earlier in the year.

For the second successive year Nicole's success has won her an Annerville award, sponsored by Bulmers, which will be presented by the Tipperary United Sports Panel at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel next Saturday night, January 25.
