BREAKING: Man (40s) dies after workplace accident in Tipperary meat processing plant

The accident occurred in Roscrea on Monday 9th March

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident that occurred in Roscrea, Co Tipperary on Monday 9 March 2026 at approximately 3 pm.

A male in his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was then removed from the location and taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place in due course. The results of this examination will determine the course of the Garda investigation. The local Coroner has been notified.

The Health and Safety Authority has also been notified and will conduct its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Gardaí have stated that inquiries are ongoing and that a file will be prepared for the Coroner. No further information is available at this time.
