HEADING FOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to the two Tipperary Athletes who have been selected on the Irish Track & Field team for the European Indoor Athletic championships in Turkey from March 3-5.
Sharlene Mawdsley of Newport AC will represent Ireland in the 400m and in the 4 x 400m relay.
Miriam Daly of Carrick-on-Suir AC has also been selected for the Irish team in the 4 X 400m relay. Just rewards for their great performances in the recent National Championships.
AWARD FOR GRACE
Congratulations to Grace Fitzgerald of Tipp Town AC who was awarded the County Tipperary Juvenile athlete of the year for 2022 by Athletics Ireland. The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, February 26 at Nenagh Track.
Her greatest achievement to date occurred in the 2022 outdoor season when she succeeded what is likely to be a first at National level winning both the National Under 19 Long and Triple Jump and following it up by winning both events again at the National Junior (U20) Championships culminating in four National titles.
