REVEALED: Tipperary sprinter Sharlene Mawdsley offers visa update after 'hectic' travel ordeal

The 400 metre specialist is due to fly to China for the World Athletics Relays

Tipperary sprinter Sharlene Mawdsley confirmed on Tuesday she will be able to take part at the World Athletics Relays in China despite a week of uncertainty involving her travel visa.

The Newport native said she endured a "busy day" last Friday after having to make a "quick visit to the Chinese Embassy" to sort a visa issue.

She later revealed that her intention was to collect her passport on Tuesday, April 29, the same day she's due to fly half way around the world!

Luckily she she posted this positive development on her social media on Tuesday morning:
