GRAPHIC CONTENT: Tipperary gardaí share uplifting story of rescued pony

Sergeant John McCormack and Garda Maurice Dowling rescued a Kerry Bog Pony in Thurles back in March 2021.

The pony was clearly malnourished and injured, and had to be placed with friends at a local animal rescue.

Gardaí said: "We were just sent these pictures and are happy to share that the pony is now thriving!

"Above pictures show comparison from when he was rescued in 2021 and his life now in 2025."
