Stakelums Home and Hardware had a special visit yesterday, September 11, as Tipperary hurling star Conor Stakelum brought the coveted Liam McCarthy Cup to the store in Thurles.
Fans and staff alike were thrilled to meet Conor, take photos, and share in the excitement of Tipperary’s unforgettable senior hurling triumph.

The Stakelum family has a long and proud history with Tipperary GAA. Conor Stakelum Jr. is part of a distinguished lineage in Tipperary hurling. His father, Conor Stakelum Sr., secured an All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship title with Tipperary in 1991.
His uncle, Richie Stakelum, also contributed to Tipperary's hurling success, winning an All-Ireland title in 1989. Additionally, Conor's grand-uncle, Pat Stakelum, captained Tipperary to All-Ireland victory in 1949 and was part of the team that achieved a three-in-a-row championship from 1949 to 1951.
Today, Conor Jr. continues the family tradition, representing Tipperary at senior level and carrying forward the Stakelum legacy on the field alongside his younger brother, Darragh.
