He will now go forward to the Munster Fleadh Cheoil in Bishopstown, Co Cork, taking place starting the week of July 12.
Eugene will perform his song on Saturday, July 19.
The song took Eugene one year to compose, with the melody of the song coming from "The Faughan Side," where his late wife's grandfather was from.
Eugene’s song, “Phylis Mary,” is in memory of his late wife.
