Tipperary community issues call out for scarecrows for its Halloween festival
The people of New Inn are being encouraged to create scarecrows for the community’s annual Spookfest
New Inn is getting ready for Spookfest 2026, and everyone is invited to get creative by making a scarecrow to help fill the village with Halloween fun.
Whether spooky, silly, traditional or completely original, all ideas are welcome.
Scarecrows do not have to be perfect or elaborate – just a little imagination and enthusiasm are needed.
Residents are encouraged to raid their sheds, attics and wardrobes and bring their creations to life, with scarecrows beginning to appear around the village this weekend.
SENSORY SPACE AT HALLOWEEN DISCO
A sensory break-out room will be available for primary school-aged children at this year’s Halloween disco in New Inn Community Centre on Friday, October 30, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
The room will offer softer music, low lighting and sensory activities to provide a calmer environment for children who may benefit from a break from the main disco.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance by texting Catherine on 087 6637135.
A small number of pairs of ear defenders will also be available for children who are sensitive to noise but wish to enjoy the main disco hall.
The disco will follow the Zombie Roam around the village from 5pm to 6pm. Parental supervision is required for all children. Families are encouraged to share the information with anyone who may benefit from the sensory facilities.
