The mystery of the disappearing seating continues in Tipperary Town, according to TippMidWest Radio.
It is understood that neither the gardaí nor the council were responsible for the recent overnight disappearance of three benches and one picnic table from a location in the town centre, the local radio reports.
There had been some speculation that the seating was removed by gardaí in response to an assault at the location on Friday, August 16.
But gardaí did not remove the seating and Tipperary County Council say "the seating at Kickham Place was removed without the permission of the council and the matter is currently being investigated".
