A liefbuoy in Golden, which was recently replaced, has gone missing.
Speaking on the matter, Cllr Declan Burgess said: "I am extremely disappointed to report that, shortly after Tipperary County Council replaced missing lifebuoys and safety boxes in Golden, one has already gone missing again.

"This is totally unacceptable and frankly disgraceful.
"Lifebuoys are not toys — they are vital, life-saving equipment. Tampering with or removing them puts lives at serious risk. If someone were to get into difficulty in the water and a lifebuoy was missing, the consequences could be fatal. It’s hard to comprehend the recklessness of such behaviour.
"I urge those responsible to think long and hard about the potential cost of their actions. This kind of vandalism is not just thoughtless — it’s dangerous.

"I appeal to anyone with information about this incident to please contact the Gardaí. Protecting public safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s ensure that this equipment is respected and available when it’s needed most," Cllr Burgess concluded.
