A school in Tipperary recently bid farewell to a teacher who has been with them for 36 years.

Mr Noel Clancy taught Science and Maths to students in St Ailbe’s school in Tipperary Town for 36 years.

During his time at the school, Noel was the driver behind DEIS planning, target setting and implementation of action plans.

The school said he also took the position of acting principal for a while a number of years ago.

Noel's Science Department colleagues surprised him with a super cake (baked by his colleague Maria).

In a statement online the school said “Noel made a huge contribution to our school over the years and will be missed. We wish Noel a really happy and fruitful retirement.”
