Friday evening walks.
Last Friday, June 22, 30 walkers headed to Abbeyleix, to complete the Killamuck bog loop.
This walk on woodland tracks, bog paths, old railway line and country roads takes you through different environments around Abbeyleix, from woodland to bogland to old railway line and through an area managed as a wildlife habitat where we meander along the boardwalk.

Next Friday June 27th we are heading to Grange to complete the Crag loop. We meet every Friday evening at Slievenamon Road car park in Thurles at 6.20pm and leave at 6.30pm.
Last Sunday Willie Fahey led the A walk. The group completed the Knockshane, Knockmealdown, 4.5 hour circuit. Knockshane was a challenging climb in the heat but a nice breeze on the summit of Knockmealdown made for a very enjoyable lunch.
John G O'Dwyer led the C walk. The group completed a 3hr section of the Suir Greenway which is part of The East Munster Way 70km linear walking route of considerable variety, from riverside paths to woodland and from open mountain moorland to quiet country roads. It starts on the edge of Carrick-on-Suir, and follows the River Suir upstream. At Kilsheelan, the route crosses into County Waterford and ascends into the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains. It soon descends again to follow the Suir into Clonmel, The group completed their walk at Ferryhouse, Clonmel.
This coming Sunday (July 1) A and B walks leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am. There is also an extended Ramble heading to Devils Bit. Leaving Slievenamon Road carpark at 10am sharp and meeting at Cloncannon at 10.30am.
