Safety barriers have been reinstated in a popular Tipperary village, just in time for the busy summer season.
The barriers have been reinstalled at the gates of the River Suir in Golden, at the request of local independent councillor John O'Heney.

Cllr O'Heney said that he had been contacted by many concerned local residents about the issue.
In a post on social media, Cllr O'Heney praised council staff for the job they did in the village.
"A big thank you to the fantastic Council staff who did a great job reinstalling safety barriers at the gates of the River Suir in Golden Village at my request, having been contacted by many local residents on this issue.

"With the busy summer season fast approaching, it is important to prioritise everyone's safety when it comes to rivers and water ways," Cllr O'Heney added.
